Huron Cross Country kicked off the race season under the lights at the Lamplighter Invitational on Friday, August 18th. Both teams coming in with a significantly faster start than our previous season.

The Huron Girls team finished 18th overall. Avery Turk placed 9th (20:44.3) earning a medal for placing in the top 20. Falyn Doss was five places away from a medal finishing 25th with a PR (21:39.3 PR) and out of 204 runners, Kayla Christesen finished 134th (25:42.7), Savanna Rupnow 162nd (27:05.4), Natalie Carlile 185th (29:30.6), Julia Welch 187th (29:39.2), Amelia Szawara 189th (29:57.9), Macy Bauman 197th (31:50.1 PR).

The Huron Boys Team finished 10th overall. Lucas Duecki, reaching a major milestone going sub 17 for the first time, was our first runner in placing 26th (16:59.9 PR), followed by Lucas Kuhn 33rd (17:11.3), Abdul Ghennewa 48th (17:33.0), Kyle Biller 78th (18:27.3), Cameron Crane 102nd (19:17.9 PR), Cole Druyor 127th (20:25.1 PR), Evan Banas 128th (20:30.6), Roman Whitmore 135th (21:09.9), Noah Myshockk 136th (21:10.4), Ben Holbrook 139th (21:19.1).

The JV Boys Team placed 5th overall with Louie Macon in 13th (20:18.3) earning medals for placing in the top 20. Out of 142 runners, Tanner Kuhn was just out of medal range finishing in 28th (21:13.5), followed by Garrett Cheney 34th (21:28.3), Broderick Yensch 40th (21:46.6 PR), Deegan Richardson 48th (22:03.8), Austin Krause 69th (22:53.1 PR), Drew Blosser 83rd (23:53.3), Garrett Patrick 89th (24:31.8), Jack Fisher 101st (25:19.1), Joel Lazenby 111th (26:25.0), Rocco Sells 116th (22:21.5), Hunter Szawara 128th (27:52.7), Graham Gamber 133rd (28:21.0), George Broughton 136th (29:30.1), Jacob Bentley 137th (30:27.0), Ian Carlile 138th (30:43.8).
