Huron Invite 9/16/23

Huron XC made school history at the 54th Annual Huron Invitational. The girls’ team took home their first Huron Invite Championship title and along with the boys winning their division it was the first time both teams shared the honor in the same year. Way to go Chiefs!!

The Huron Girls Cross Country team won the title with their top 5 medaling among the top 35. Avery Turk led the team finishing 4th overall (20:29.2), followed by Falyn Doss in 7th with a PR time of 21:06.7 which lands her on the Huron Top 20 5K board in 19th, Kayla Christesen placed 18th (23:01.5 PR), and Cecilia Evans 35th (24:25.4), all earning medals. Kirsten Perecki came in at 63rd (26:53.5), Savanna Rupnow 71st (27:45.3), Julia Welch 76th (28:24.5 PR), Macy Bauman (29:46.1 PR), Amelia Szawara 80th (30:58.2).

The Boys Varsity team went back to back, winning the Huron Invitational two years in a row with their top 6 medaling. Lucas Kuhn was our front runner finishing 3rd overall (16:46.6 PR), followed by Luke Dulecki 5th (16:51.0 PR), Abdul Ghennewa 8th (17:05.8), Kyle Biller 20th (18:33.1), Cameron Crane 30th (18:59.2 PR), Louie Macon 34th (19:08.0 PR), all earning medals. Lucas Worrell placed 40th (19:22.1 PR), Evan Banas 45th (19:43.3), Roman Whitmore (20:59.9), Cole Druyor (21:18.4).

The JV Boys team had 8 runners’ PR and placed 8th overall. Tanner Kuhn led the team in 33rd (20:22.1 PR) out of 184, Garrett Cheney 52nd (20:57.6), Deegan Richardson 61st (21:33.0 PR), Austin Krause 64th (21:28.6 PR), Noah Myshock 73rd (21:38.7), Ben Holbrook 92nd (22:23.9), Garrett Patrick 104th (22:44.4 PR), Drew Blosser 121st (23:41.6), Rocco Sells 133rd (24:26.9), Joel Lazenby 144th (25:04.4), Jack Fisher 150th (25:32.8), George Broughton 153rd (25:52.6 PR), Hunter Szawara 161st (26:35.1), Graham Gamber 163rd (26:51.4 PR), Ian Carlile 165th (27:00.8 PR), Jacob Bentley 171st (28:00.0 PR).
