Sat. Oct. 28 – MHSAA Region 18-2
Under perfect racing conditions on the Lake Erie course at the MHSAA Region 18 competition, the Chiefs advanced four All-Regional runners to the State Finals next Saturday, November 4th at MIS. Congratulations: Falyn Doss, Avery Turk, Luke Dulecki, & Abdul Ghennewa!

In the Girls D2 Varsity race, Falyn Doss finishing at 9th, clocked in a 19:33.2 personal record brings down the 14-year-old Huron 5K school record. Alongside her, Avery Turk claimed 10th place (19:58.0), both receiving medals and All-Region honors, punching their ticket to MIS. Kayla Christesen was in next at 51st (22:43.4), followed by Cecilia Evans 62nd (23:31.1 PR), Kirsten Perecki 78th (25:05.2 SR), Savanna Rupnow 86th (26:45.5 PR), and Julia Welch 88th (27:08.6 PR). In the JV race, Macy Bauman finished 98th (30:44.4).

In the Boys Varsity D2 race, Luke Dulecki leading the team placed 6th (16:34.4 PR), and Abdul Ghennewa in 10th (16:51.9 SR) both earned All-Region medals and sealed their entry to the state finals. Lucas Kuhn finishing among the top 20 came in at 18th (17:19.1), followed by Louie Macon 37th (18:08.7 PR), Lucas Worrell 41st (18:20.5 PR), Cameron Crane 56th (18:55.3), and Kyle Biller 60th (19:28.0). Huron finished 4th overall once again this year and were only 9 points away from qualifying for states as a team.

In the JV boys’ race, Huron had three personal records and one season best for the day. Evan Banas led the Chiefs placing 66th (19:26.2 SR) out of 177 runners, followed by Cole Druyor 87th (20:02.2), Deegan Richardson 93rd (20:12.6 PR), Broderick Yensch 110th (20:56.5), Ben Holbrook 113th (20:59.3 PR), Garrett Cheney 116th (21:12.1), Austin Krause 124th (21:35.1), Jack Fisher 142nd (22:48.9 PR), Garrett Patrick 143rd (22:49.3), Drew Blosser 157th (24:17.4), Joel Lazenby 165th (26:04.1), Jacob Bentley 167th (26:38.1), Rocco Sells 175th (33:58.6), Roman Whitmore 176th (33:58.7), Noah Myshock 177th (33:58.8).
