MITCA is excited to host its 4th Annual Michigan Meet of Champions and Mid-East Qualifier.

Top Senior performers at the Meet of Champions will be invited to represent Team Michigan at
the Mid-East Meet of Champions in Kettering, Ohio on Saturday, November 18th. The top 12
highest placing seniors in the Elite Team OR Elite Open race will be invited. Next placing top
performers will be invited to fill the 12 spots. Team Michigan will travel via charter bus on
Friday, November 17th with the Team Michigan coaching staff, be provided lodging, food and a
custom uniform!.

ELITE ‘TEAM’ RACE – LIVE DRAFT!
To be considered for the ELITE ‘TEAM’ Race, an athlete must either have a qualifying 5K cross
country time or comparable body of work to suggest they would be competitive.
The ANTICIPATED Boys/Girls qualifying standard is 16:25.0/19:40.0. (Updated 9/18/2023)
Runners must be currently in 9th – 12th grade. No Exceptions.
AFTER the field is set, there will be a LIVE draft on a social media platform. There will be 13
teams with 10 runners on each team. Registrants will be drafted by one of our sponsors who will
provide racing tops!

ELITE ‘OPEN’ RACE
To be considered for the ELITE ‘OPEN’ Race, an athlete must either have a qualifying 5K cross
country time or comparable body of work to suggest they would be competitive.

Runners 6th-12th grade may compete in this section.

‘OPEN’ RACE
All runners are eligible to compete in the ‘OPEN’ Race. ALL Grades are welcome. Adults are
welcome to compete as well.

Awards: Top 30 in each race medal! Medals given in the chute

DRAFT ORDER & LIVE SELECTION SHOW!
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH @ 8PM – This will determine the draft order for our sponsors
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH @ 8PM – ELITE TEAM LIVE DRAFT!
Once registration closes, the top 130 runners will be announced and then our eleven awesome sponsors will have a LIVE Draft in which teams will be filled. We encourage participation in the live draft with potential athlete interviews, draft parties, etc!

RACE DAY SCHEDULE
11:00AM – Course preview and packet pickup

ELITE TEAM RACES – GIRLS 1PM, BOYS 2:05PM
The Top 130* boys/girls registered will be drafted LIVE by our sponsors and will compete on one of 11 teams.
Each runner will receive a jersey to wear for competition.
*Top 130 will be determined by 2022 cross country performances and by meet management
rankings and will be posted before draft night

ELITE OPEN RACES – GIRLS 1:35PM, BOYS 2:40PM
Total number of runners will be based on registration totals. 65 runners P/gender will be selected to wear sponsor jerseys registration totals. 55 runners will be selected to wear sponsor jerseys

ALL-COMERS OPEN RACES – GIRLS 3:10PM, BOYS 3:40PM
65 runners will be selected to win sponsor swag!
